Lesson 3

“Now unto Him that is able to do exceeding abundantly
Above all we ask or think, according to the power that
worth in us,” Ephesians 3:20
What are you asking? What are you imagining? Are your dreams limiting
what God can do in your life? The question is not “Who do you think you
are?” The right question is “Who do you think God is?” Let the size of
your God determine the size of your dream.
You must let go of ____________________
Doubt your doubts and believe your beliefs. Doubt is always a choice.
“But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a
wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed. For let not that man
think that he shall receive anything of the Lord.” James 1:6-7
“Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of good courage; be not
afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the Lord thy God is with thee
whithersoever thou goest.” Joshua 1:9
Two causes of doubt:
_________ my abilities.
“……but they measuring themselves by themselves, and comparing
themselves among themselves, are not wise.” 2 Corinthians 10:12
If God only used perfect people, nothing would
ever get done.
___________________ my failures.
If you focus on your past mistakes and failures, you will miss out on what
God wants to do in the present and in your future.
“….forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto
those things that are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the
high calling of God in Christ Jesus.” Phillippians 3:13-14
God uses people with checked pasts. What matters is
not where you have been, but where you are headed
Look for ____________________________
“Every place that the sole of your foot shall tread upon, that have I given
unto you, as I said unto Moses.” Joshua 1:3
“Everyone of you knows….(that) God has given you all the good things
that He promised. Every promise He has made has been kept; not one
has failed.” Ref. Joshua 23:14
Three Promises from God:
What does God promise if you say, “Lord, I want you to use my life for
your purpose?”
God promises _______________________
“No one will be able to stand up against you.” Ref. Joshua 1:5
God promises _____________________
God promises _____________________
“……for the Lord thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest”
Joshua 1:9
“This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt
meditate (study) therein day and night, that thou mayest observe (obey) to
do according to all that is written therein: for then shalt make thy way
prosperous (wise), and then thou shalt have good success.” Joshua 1:8
God’s promise of success is not based on your ability.
It is based on your commitment to His Word.
Lean on __________________________
“There shall not any man be able to stand (defeat) before thee all the days
of thy life: as I was with Moses, so I will be with thee: I will not fail thee,
nor forsake (leave) thee.” Joshua 1:5
Who or what are you leaning on for strength?
“Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; lean not unto thine own
understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He will direct thy
paths.” Proverbs 3:5-6
Launch out in __________________________
“Then Joshua issued instructions to the leaders….to tell the people to get
ready to cross the Jordan River.” Ref. Joshua 1:10
What is your Jordan River? What is the barrier in your life that you will
think you will never get over? What is standing between you and God’s
dream? Courage is not the absence of fear. Courage is moving ahead in
spite of your fear.
“Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we
ask or think, according to the power that worth in us.” Ephesians 3:20
Is your dream big enough for God? Are you pursuing your dream or
God’s dream in your life?
Does the idea of God having a dream in your life excite you or frighten
“Believe your beliefs and doubt your doubts. Doubt is the enemy of
God’s dream for your life.” What doubts do you need to dump so God
can use you?
Courage is moving ahead in spite of your fear. God is waiting for you to
take a step of faith so He can bless you with a miracle. What step of
daring faith do you need to take this week to pursue God’s dream?
